Duration: 2hrs
Price per Head: £20
Participants: Minimum 8 to Maximum 30.
Our host, the bartender, gives a short presentation on cocktail making; from the history to the current trends of modern mixology. The technicalities of making a drink such as the equipment, glassware and ingredients used will be explained. After demonstrations by our professional cocktail bartender, participants will have the chance to get behind the bar for themselves and try their hand at mixing and drinking their own creations.
Our host will introduce him/herself and explain how the session will work, he/she will also make a cocktail for each person to drink and nibbles will be supplied.
A brief history will be given of cocktails and a presentation of the equipment and ingredients that the participants will be using.
The participants will be split into 3 or 4 groups and a stage-by-stage demonstration and instructions from the host will be given to one group at a time, as they get to give mixology a go and create a cocktail for themselves to enjoy.
Explanations will also be given as to how you make the drinks at home.
Take 5 minutes for a cigarette or some fresh air and get welcomed back with baby cocktails and quick demo on how to make them.
The group is divided in to 3 or 4 teams.
Each team is given the same basic ingredients needed of Lime, Lemon, Sugar, Mint and some Spirits. Each team also gets to pick some extra ingredients i.e. Purees, Syrups and additional Spirits. The teams then have 30 minutes to create 2 or 3 cocktails using the ingredients and equipment provided.
After 30 minutes, each team nominates one of their cocktails to be judged. The host and bartender will then pick a winner based on taste, presentation and of course the name.
The winning team gets a cocktail making kit to take home and goodies awarded to the losing team.
The session ends and the participants can make their way downstairs for 2 4 1 Cocktails.
